  • 1977-1982 Piano studies with Alfons und Aloys Kontarsky in Cologne; Post-graduate 1982
  • 1981-1986 Member of the Ensemble Modern as pianist
  • 1986-1989 Work as an interpreter in cooperation with Karlheinz Stockhausen
  • 1979-1986 Studies in composition with H. U. Humpert in the studio for electronic music at the Academy of Music in Cologne
  • Invitation to the most reknowned studios for electronic music in Europe
  • Composer of the music to the restored and complete version of the silent movie "Dr. Mabuse, der Spieler" from Fritz Lang
  • "Solaris", chamber opera about S. Lem as a co production between the Munich Film Festival and IRCAM / Paris, world premiere in 1996 in Munich
  • "Caroline", opera about Caroline von Schlegel-Schelling, composed for the Deutsche National Theatre in Weimar in the year 1999 (European City of Culture)
  • "Nosferatu", music to the silent film classic from Murnau, world premiere 2003 in Paris with the Ensemble Intercontemporain
