Ferenc Rados - Piano

(c) Maik Schuck

13 - 19 July 2019

There are no well-known Hungarian pianists who have not studied with him. Ferenc Rados is a pedagogical legend, not only in his native Hungary but also far beyond. Many of his students, including András Schiff and Zoltán Kocsis, have later pursued international careers. Born in 1934, he studied at the Liszt Academy in Budapest and at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Ferenc Rados performed worldwide as a soloist, chamber musician and as a guest of renowned orchestras until 1985. His work has appeared on a variety of CD recordings for the label Hungaroton. Up until his retirement in 1996, he taught as a professor of piano and chamber music at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest. Ferenc Rados regularly gives masterclasses for pianists and chamber music ensembles around the world.
