Repertoire

The complete repertoire for the 4th International JOSEPH JOACHIM Chamber Music Competition 2005 consists of six original works by different composers:
  • two works composed before 1830
  • two works from the romantic period
  • one work composed between 1900 and 1950 (The string quartet by Claude Debussy is permitted in this section)
  • one work composed after 1950

First Round
a) one work composed before 1830
b) one work from the romantic period
Maximum length of the programme is 30 minutes.
The Jury will determine which movements are to be performed.


Semifinal
a) one work composed before 1830
b) one work from the romantic period
Note: Both works may not be repeated from the first round of the competition.
c) one work composed after 1950
Maximum length of the programme is 90 minutes.

Finale
a) one work composed before 1830
b) one work from the romantic period
Note: Both works are identical to those performed in the first round of the competition.
c) one work composed between 1900 and 1950

Maximum length of the programme is 90 minutes.
