That's not enough!

New episode of the podcast "Liszten" with jazz guitarist Frank Möbus

In the fifth episode of LISZTEN, host Christofer Hameister talks with Frank Möbus. The jazz guitarist teaches in Weimar between tours and concerts. While his bandmates recover, he teaches young people as a professor of electric guitar at the Liszt University. In doing so, he thinks he has observed that the youth generation of the last 15 years has not become much wilder.

Instead, he says, people are often unnecessarily well-behaved for their age: "Now younger people look at older people and say: Man, they're crazy!" The world is upside down - Möbus thinks. He calls on people to try things out, to test the limits, to attempt the absurd. Because if music is only right and virtuosic, that's not enough for him. In this episode of "Liszten" Frank Möbus tells us how he came to play the guitar and what music carries him away.

In the 150th anniversary year of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar, the new podcast "Liszten" was launched. We do not look back on our history, but talk to the people who shape the HfM today.

Who teaches, studies and works here? How did they find their way to music and to the HfM? And what drives them apart from music? Every month, different people from the fields of study, teaching and administration have their say - unfiltered and honest.

Presenter Christofer Hameister studied school music at the University of Music in Weimar and completed his journalistic traineeship at Antenne Thüringen in Weimar. Since 2019, he has been presenting various radio and television programs for Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb).
