  • Born in Reutlingen, grew up in Göttingen, Nienburg, Aachen, Calw, Bruchsal (Germany)
  • Opera diploma and Konzertexamen with honours under Prof. Ute Niss (student of Franziska Martienssen and Paul Lohmann) at the Lübeck Music Conservatory
  • Private studies and master classes with Arleen Auger, Aldo Baldin, Leonard Hokanson, Pavel Lisizian, Thomas Thomaschke, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Helmuth Rilling
  • From 2000 until 2007 studies with court opera singer Nicolai Gedda alongside his career
  • Successful career as a singer on concert and theatre stages already as a student
  • Engagements at theatres and opera houses in Germany and Austria (including Hamburg, Lübeck and Vienna), particularly in Mozart roles, at the Mozart Festival Cluj he sang the title role in the Romanian première of Mozart's "La Clemenza di Tito"
  • Concert tours led him to Egypt, Chile, China, Denmark, France, Israel, Poland, Romania, as well as to various festivals and large concert halls
  • CD productions with works by Handel, Mozart, Baumgartl and Eben in cooperation with the NDR (North German Radio) and SWF (Southwestern Radio) as well as numerous radio and concert recordings as a soloist
  • Since 2001 very successful pedagogical career at the Lübeck Music Conservatory (within a professorship with a complete major class, served many years as the deputy director of the Institute for Music Education)
  • His former students sing at numerous German-language opera houses and are employed as teachers and professors
  • Guest professorships at the Xian Conservatory of Music, Shenyang Conservatory of Music, Harbin Normal University School of Music, teacher at the world-famous lecturer programme at the National University of Beijing
  • Regularly teaches master classes in Germany, China and Chile
