  • Born and raised in Erfurt
  • ‘A-Levels’ at the ‘Gotthold Ephraim Lessing’ Advanced Secondary School
  • 1980–1985: degree in Piano at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar
  • Teachers: Fritz Bantz – piano, Helmut Pfeuffer –  chamber music, Ludwig Bätzel – artistic song interpretation
  • Active participation in piano masterclasses under Ludwig Hoffmann (Munich), Amadeus Webersinke (Dresden) and Detlev Kraus (Hamburg)
  • 1985–1988: Teacher of piano and correpetition at the Louis Spohr Music School in Gotha
  • 1986: Participated in the First ‘Pantscho Wladigerow’ International Piano Competition in Bulgaria
  • 1988: Returned to Weimar to work as an assistant for piano at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT
  • 1992 to present: Work as an artistic research fellow in the Department of School Music and Church Music
  • Part of the departmental leadership and responsible for instrumental training within the department
