During a small ceremony at the Hochschulzentrum am Horn on Wednesday, February 1, the Germany Scholarships of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar for the academic year 2022/23 were officially presented. Thanks to the generous support of foundations, companies and private sponsors, a total of 35 Germany Scholarships could be awarded.

The scholarship holders received their certificates from the hands of Vice President Prof. Juan Garcia - who personally provided the musical accompaniment to the ceremony. The Germany scholarship holders can look forward to monthly support of 300 euros from October 2022 to September 2023.

The scholarships, half of which are funded by private donors and half by the federal government, are awarded for proven outstanding artistic, pedagogical or scientific achievements before or during their studies, or for special successes. In addition, extracurricular or extracurricular commitment as well as special personal and family circumstances are taken into account in the selection process.

The largest scholarship provider this academic year is the New Liszt Foundation / Carin Riesen Foundation with a total of ten scholarships. The Ernst Abbe Foundation Jena is doubly involved, with funding going to Franz Hofereiter (violoncello) and Tatjana Sawjalow (improvised singing).

In addition, there are a number of noble donors, some of whom have been involved for many years, whose commitment makes individual scholarships possible: Mariana Diaz (flute), for example, receives a Germany scholarship supported by Birgit and Frank Siegmund.

The Ernst-Freiberger-Foundation supports Luz Sanchez Suero (viola), the Thüringer Aufbaubank helps Helena Jensch (improvised singing), Ulrich Bergmann supports Olivia Croitoru (violin) and Dr. Hans-Reinhard Hunger co-finances the scholarship of Anselm Siebelitz (violoncello).

Veronika Ronecová (guitar) benefits from the commitment of the Löhr family, Dr. Gernot Gunther Moegelin supports Anna Betker (accordion), and Prof. Dr. Wolfram Eberbach acts as sponsor of Nicolas Loic Absolom (piano).

Finally, Dr. Karl Heinz Weiss awards a scholarship to Eike Coetzee (viola), Prof. Gero Schmidt-Oberländer sponsors Jakob Friedemann Dietz (church music/organ) - and an anonymous patron from among the professors of the Weimar University of Music donates a scholarship for Adam Bárros (piano).
