1. In order to apply for the 8th International LOUIS SPOHR Competition for Young Violinists, the following documents must be submitted no later than 10th June 2016:
  • completed application form
  • DVD or YouTube link with the required pieces for the preselection
  • the completed application form
  • a short Résumé detailing musical education, violin teachers, details about prizes won at national and international competitions
  • a binding list of chosen works to be played together with the exact Opus, KV or BWV numbers (cannot be changed) and indicate the duration in minutes of each piece
  • a letter of recommendation by the teacher
  • a recent photograph no smaller than 4 x 6 cm or 300 DPI (to be printed in the competition catalogue)
  • a copy of the birth certificate, identity document or passport
  • proof of payment of the participation fee of 100 Euros
Applications can be sent by post or by e-mail (PDF, JPEG, photo at least 300 dpi) to the organisation office.

2. The participation fee is 100 Euros, which is to be transferred to the following account:

The application is only valid when proof of payment of the participation fee of 100 Euros is included. The application fee is non-refundable. However, if the applicant is not accepted, the applicant will receive a 100% refund of the application fee. International participants, especially from Eastern Europe may apply for an exemption from the participation fee. 3. Only those applications which have arrived no later than 10th June 2016 at The LISZT UNIVERSITY of Music will be considered for acceptance. Applicants will receive a confirmation of acceptance no later than 25th July 2016.
