Counselling and help in the corona crisis
The corona crisis poses challenges for all of us. Especially psychologically, it is an enormous burden for many people.
We are concerned about our own health as well as that of our relatives and friends. Financial hardship, job loss, conflicts in the family or loneliness due to a lack of social contacts are problems we are now confronted with. In addition, our everyday life is now characterized by many uncertainties.
Numerous agencies offer counselling and help in the current crisis - by telephone, but also online and by e-mail.
Please do not hesitate to contact them if you are looking for advice or need help.
General Social Counselling and Psycho-social Counselling of the Studierendenwerk Thüringen
Many students currently find themselves pushed to their limits by the ongoing lockdown and online classes. Do not hesitate to ask for help in time. We hereby draw your attention to our counselling services. The counselling sessions are also offered in English upon request and are free of charge for you.
We offer you general social counselling (ASB) to help you with orientation and decision-making as well as information on complex social issues.
Psycho-social counselling (PSB) is available to all students at universities in Thuringia who feel the need to talk to a person who is neutral about themselves, their situation, and their problems, and to receive further support. Those seeking advice can contact our advisors both with study-related problems and in personal conflict situations. Currently, worries about the future, loneliness, and the feeling of stress and pressure can be the biggest challenges. The Studierendenwerk currently offers counselling on these and other topics by telephone, video chat, or with online writing-based counselling.
Currently, you can make an appointment for a consultation with our advisors by e-mail or by telephone during registration hours.
If it is not possible for you to contact us personally or by phone, you are welcome to do so by mail.
The writing-based psycho-social online counselling offers you the possibility to send your questions anonymously and securely. Please note that not all advisors can be contacted there as contact persons.
The counselling sessions always take place with a consultant at individually arranged appointments.
Should you have further questions about your studies, please do not hesitate to contact the staff of INFOtake Weimar.
