Financial aid for students in need

The Studierendenwerk Thüringen has made funds available to support students in need. You can get an interest-free loan of up to 800 euros to secure the students' livelihood.

You can apply online via the general social counselling of the Studierendenwerk: asb(at)stw-thueringen.de.

On the website of the Studierendenwerk you can find the corresponding application form (in German and English) as well as further information on how to apply.

Half of the amount granted must be repaid. The Free State of Thuringia takes over the other half of the loan amount. Students must therefore repay a maximum of 400 euros. This regulation also applies retroactively to students who have already received a loan from the Studierendenwerk since the beginning of April.
