Ingolf Turban – Violin

(c) Dorothee Falke

20 - 25 July 2020

“The longer I work with her, the clearer it becomes to me that it is a blessing both in concert and in teaching situations to be involved with her”, says the violinist Ingolf Turban referring to music. Whether it's the Berlin Philharmonic, the Milan Scala or the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein: no stage is too big or too famous for Ingolf Turban. He has played as a soloist with luminaries such as Yehudi Menuhin, Charles Dutoit, Lorin Maazel and Zubin Mehta, recorded 40 CDs, and gives around 50 concerts a year. Born in Munich, Turban became first concertmaster of the Munich Philharmonic in 1985. A year later he debuted under Sergiu Celibidache. In 2005 he founded the chamber orchestra I Virtuosi di Paganini. For eleven years he taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart, before being appointed Professor of Violin at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich in 2006.
