Master Class Baroque Opera with the Lautten Compagney Berlin

Lautten Compagney

Their performance of Rinaldo is described as musical and refined, a whirlwind and a true display of fireworks. Now they come to Weimar to work on and perform Händel's opera with young singers.
In the beginning, more than 25 years ago, there were only two who came together with their plucked instruments: Wolfgang katschner and Hans-Werner Apel. Today the Lautten Compagney performs in different-sized ensembles, moving on to Philip Glass whose music they have used in bold contrast with the Baroque composer Tarquinio Merula, once mixing strings with a saxophone. In 2009 they received an ECHO CLASSIC for their programme Timeless which they will perform in the Gentzsche Treppenhaus of the city residence. Prior to this they will speak about their aim to come closer to a historical authentic idea of sound in the Orchestra Concepts series.
