The Thuringian Orchestra Academy
The orchestra academy is a joint project between The LISZT SCHOOL of Music Weimar and the State Orchestra at the German National Theatre Weimar. This artistic post-graduate course is particularly aimed at students who have already graduated in the orchestral direction.Parallel to individual tuition from the schools' professors the students receive extensive job experience in a first-rate orchestra according to availability. Thus the students are offered developmental possibilities, which go far beyond the usual trial year in orchestras.
The course’s main focuses include attaining knowledge of symphonic and opera music through literature, the experience of working with different conductors and solists, specific orchestral techniques as well as the possibility for the development of a quality yardstick. In addition to all that the student’s ability to cope with stress and their interaction within a group is improved. Audition experience is also available.
