Vivica Genaux – Voice
25 to 31 July 2014Three weeks before her master class in Weimar Vivica Genaux, native of Alaska, will be returning home to Fairbanks to sing the part of Isabella in Rossini‘s "L'italiana in Algeri". Having delivered these Mediterranean greetings in the far north, this soprano will then demonstrate in Weimar that her fields of expertise are not limited to bel canto, but include also Baroque opera. Whether Vivaldi, Hasse, Händel, or Purcell, Vivica Genaux commands a repertoire of 56 roles that she, as a much sought after performer in solo recitals and in ensembles, presents on the world's most prestigious stages. A steadily increasing number of CD recordings document her work.
